Travel Requirement: Up to 25% travel per project needs
Compensation: $105,000 - $135,000 per year + Annual Bonus Eligibility

The Opportunity
The Project Manager supports the successful delivery of automation and control system integration projects within construction-driven environments such as hyperscale data centers.
This role is responsible for coordinating project execution from early planning through commissioning and closeout. The Project Manager works closely with engineering teams, subcontractors, field personnel, and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications.
Based onsite in Sandston, VA this position plays a key role in coordinating field activities, subcontractor execution, scheduling, and customer communication while maintaining project documentation and reporting.
As projects expand, this role may require temporary relocation to future project locations to support additional large-scale data center builds. Candidates must be open to relocation as project needs evolve.
What You’ll do
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Typically 3–5 years of experience supporting or managing projects in construction, automation, or industrial environments.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, schedules, and project documentation on active job sites.
- Exposure to automation, control systems integration, or mission critical infrastructure environments is beneficial.
- PMP certification or progress toward certification is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management Responsibilities
- Lead assigned projects through defined project phases from execution start through commissioning and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, execution plans, and task tracking to support on-time project delivery.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, fabrication, software, and field services.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to maintain schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and change control processes.
- Track project performance and provide accurate reporting using standardized project management tools.
- Support installation, commissioning, and customer acceptance activities.
Field Coordination
- Coordinate daily subcontractor and trade partner activities on the project site.
- Ensure field work aligns with project drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Assist with scheduling, material planning, and installation progress tracking.
- Support commissioning readiness and system turnover activities.
- Promote and enforce safety policies and safe work practices on site.
Customer and Contractor Interaction
- Serve as a key point of contact for customers, general contractors, and trade partners.
- Communicate project updates, schedules, and milestones clearly and proactively.
- Build strong professional relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and communication records.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated success coordinating construction-site activities or technical project execution.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and project scheduling software such as MS Project or Smartsheet.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with remote teams and leadership.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and how project decisions impact safety and system performance.
Work Authorization / Other Requirements
- Proof of eligibility to work in the country where the position is located is required.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
